How to choose a golf GPS

Golf GPS devices like the SkyCaddie LX2 GPS Watch give you instant distances to the front, centre and back of the green, plus hazards and layup points. When choosing one, consider:

• Map accuracy: SkyCaddie uses ground-verified, error-corrected course maps rather than relying only on satellite imagery.
• Screen: handhelds offer large, detailed screens; watches are lighter and always on your wrist.
• Readability: look for a display designed for bright sunlight.
• Battery life: make sure it comfortably covers your longest rounds.
• Connectivity: Wi-Fi updates keep maps current without plugging into a computer.
• Game tracking: some models support SuperTags for automatic shot tracking.
